Only a very talented writer can take high-level concepts like fibre-optic cables, the transmission of information, and stock market jargon and create something accessible and entertaining. Quebecois filmmaker Kim Nguyen brings us into the world of Wall Street in a unique way, as we follow cousins Vincent (Jesse Eisenberg) and Anton (Alexander Skarsgård) who are attempting to access stock information a millisecond faster than the rest of the world the time it takes for a Hummingbird to flap its wings.

They’re hunted down by their former boss, played comedically and brilliantly by Salma Hayek, as she tries to thwart their plans and beat them to the task. Hayek, Eisenberg and Skarsgård all create memorable and relatable characters that make The Hummingbird Project a touching story that’s both funny and emotional. We spoke to the cast and director Kim Nguyen about their brilliant new film. Check out the interviews and see The Hummingbird Project in theatres on March 22nd.

The Hummingbird Project is a great pick for fans of The Wolf of Wall Street, The Big Short and Moneyball.

The Hummingbird Project and feel instantly smarter.

This film really packs a punch, as it features lovable characters who will stop at nothing to get what they want. While the premise is high-level, the outcome is a film that puts its characters and the relationships they have above all else. This is a powerful and entertaining time at the movies.
